Academic & Professional Training

Light and Shadow

My path has been a transformation from performer to educator. Trained as a pianist and organist at the Mozarteum Salzburg, I began my career on stage before shifting my focus to teaching. Over time, I earned a formal teaching license in Berlin and gained experience across national and international school systems.

Working in different countries and cultures has given me the opportunity to grow as an educator, adapting my teaching to diverse contexts and student needs. This blend of artistic background and pedagogical training continues to shape my approach: combining excellence in performance with a deep commitment to guiding students.

1991 - Bachelor  of the Arts in Music Degree

I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Studies (organ and piano) at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, one of Europe’s leading conservatories with an international reputation for excellence in music and the performing arts. The eight-semester program combined rigorous academic study with intensive performance training, including music theory, history, pedagogy, harmony, and counterpoint. A central feature was the final public recital (45 minutes each on organ and piano), showcasing solo and chamber repertoire from various eras, demonstrating both technical mastery and stylistic versatility.

This program laid the foundation for my career in performance and education, blending scholarly depth with practical artistry, and preparing me for a lifelong engagement in music.

This state teaching license certifies me to teach at secondary level and reflects my professional recognition within the German education system. It provided the foundation for my continued international teaching career, particularly within IGCSE and IB programs, while maintaining a formal teaching qualification valid in Germany.

International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) – Accreditation in School-based Assessment (Music)

In 2012, I completed official training and accreditation with Cambridge International Examinations, qualifying me to assess and moderate student coursework in IGCSE Music in line with CIE regulations. The program focused on maintaining accuracy and fairness in evaluating performance, composition, and listening skills, ensuring students’ work met international standards.

This accreditation enhanced my professional profile as a music educator and allowed me to deliver the IGCSE curriculum with authority and accountability. It also connected my German teaching license with my later IB training, marking an important step in building a career within international school systems.

1991  Art & HandcraftStudies

Alongside my music degree at the Mozarteum, I began studies in art and handcrafts, exploring creativity, design, and material application through courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, woodworking, and ceramics. These studies enriched my artistic perspective and informed my teaching practice. Ultimately, I chose to dedicate myself fully to music, but this experience continues to inspire my interdisciplinary and creative approach.
