PERFORMING

My time in Germany 1992 - 2003
 

Between 1992 and 2002 I lived in Freilassing, Germany on the Austrian border. During this time I devoted most of my musical activities to building up my private music school Mega Music.

​Nevertheless, I tried as often as possible to perform across the different musical genres with various ensembles and also alone.

​

​

CLASSICAL

As part of the Berchtesgaden Kurorchester I played light music and classical concerts.

 

I also occasionally played the organ in the catholic church St. Rupert and in the protestant church "Kreuzkirche" in Freilassing.

​

BAR PIANO

I also worked as a bar pianist in Salzburg, Bad Reichenhall, Tegernsee, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bad Gastein, Munich and other cities in Germany and Austria.

JAZZ 

With my own jazz ensemble I had various performances in Salzburg, Freilassing and the surrounding area.

MUSICAL

In 1996 I arranged and performed the musical “Cotton Club” in Laufen, Hallein, Rottach-Egern und am Tegernsee for jazz ensemble, dancers and actors. The musical includes well-known songs by jazz pianist Fats Waller.

The musical describes the years after Prohibition came into force in America. A number of thriving clubs opened in Harlem. The Cotton Club was “the aristocrat of Harlem”.

Gangland bosses, broadway stars, celebrities came uptown to take in the shows after their own work was done. In exuberant defiance of the world outside, they danced and they lived and they drank away… and worried about tomorrow later. At the musical “Cotton Club” those bad old days lived again.

I also often played with the Salzburg rock and blues guitarist Stefan Schubert, Hans Baltin on bass, Peter Angerer and drums and my wife Felicity on vocals.
