PERFORMING

My time in Salzburg from 1982 to 1990

During my music studies at the University of Salzburg, I took every opportunity to perform as a solo pianist, in a duo, and as a keyboard player in various jazz, rock, and blues ensembles.

BLUES & ROCK

During my classical studies at the University of Salzburg I played in various rock bands such as "Schrebergarten", "Freddy geht nach Düsseldorf" with musicians like Stefan Schubert (voc/guit), Peter Angerer (dr.)

I took part in many jazz jam sessions and played with many local jazz greats like Alan Praskin (alto), Klaus Kircher (bass), Gottfried Stöger (alto), Hans Rettenbacher (bass), Dietmar Kastowsky (bass), Anita Zick (voc) , Verena Laffarenz (voc), Herbert Berger (alto), Thomas Reimer (guit), Ulrich Barth (alto), Peter Berthold (guit), Robert Friedl (alto), Thomas Grubinger /dr.) just to name a few.

As a solo pianist I played in various hotels in Salzburg, such as the Sheraton, the Renaissance Hotel, the Hotel Bristol, the Piano Bar "Make Up" and during the "Salzbrettl" series of events in what was then the "Aumühltheater" in Freilassing.

VERENA LAFFARENZ

As a pianist, I accompanied the Salzburg singer Verena Laffarenz on her numerous performances with a band and in a duo in Salzburg and the surrounding area.

During my time in Salzburg I also gave classical organ concerts in my home parish of St. Martin in Illertissen and in St. Rupert, Freilassing, where I worked part time as an organist during my studies.

MUSICAL

My time in Munich - Augsburg 1990

In 1990 I was commissioned to compose the music for Boris Vian's play "The Generals". The Romanist Theater was founded in Augsburg in the summer of 1977. Initially, it staged its plays in the original French. The theater group has been performing in German since 1983, but has remained true to the Romance language through the choice of plays. Over the years it had gained a permanent place in Augsburg's cultural life. Every year, the group is made up of around 25-30 students, lecturers and former students from all faculties, who, in addition to acting, also took on the stage (image and technology), costumes and make-up. Directed since the founding of the theater by Hanspeter Plocher.
